For each WakaWaka Power reward, you also get a WakaWaka Light (version 1.0 with lights only) as part of your reward, only will we make sure it gets to Haiti. Still today, 2 years after the devastating earthquake in 2010, 1.2 million families live in complete darkness, without any electricity, heavily dependent on toxic, expensive and extremely dangerous kerosene lamps. During the course of their life, more than a million people Haitians, and mostly kids, will be severely burned as a result of accidents with these lamps. This is unacceptable.

Also, after the earthquake many people were left homeless. Today over 370.000 people still live in makeshift shelters and last October, they were hit hard again by hurricane Sandy. Let’s try to light up the lives of these people who need it most. We are hopeful that no one other than Donna Karan (who has a house in Haiti and does a lot of charity there) will testify on behalf of all of you Kickstrater Backers that the WakaWaka’s have arrived and been distributed once that has happend. (she has promised her support already!) Last your our backers were responsible for lighting up an intire school in Kenya. Now let’s try to light up a whole island!
